To say that it has been an exciting year for our agency would be an understatement. Thanks to the loyalty of our clients, our agency continues to grow.
The year started off with a bang! In January, we learned that our agency was yet again awarded the Erie Founders Award. We take great pride in this award, as it is only provided to select Erie Agencies that exhibit superior growth and profitability.
In April, we partnered with Insurance Solutions Group (ISG) and opened our first branch office in New Castle, PA. This strategic partnership allows us to expand our offerings into the Group Benefits Market. Tom Dean, ISG President, has over 20 years of experience in the health care field and has worked with our agency for many years to provide Group Benefits Services. We are very happy to have formalized our relationship with ISG and have Tom and his staff join our team!
In October, we added our second branch office when we partnered with the James Zelasco Agency (JZA) in Hopewell, PA. The JZA is an established Erie Agency with an excellent reputation in the Beaver County Area. Jim Zelasco has over 30 years of experience in the insurance industry. We are excited to have Jim and his crew join the RDA Team.
Adding these locations provides a benefit to our customers as not only have these partnerships allowed us to expand the products and services we offer they have allowed us to add several highly trained insurance specialists to our staff. After making a significant investments in our agency technology, we are now able to tie our locations together to take advantage of the products, services and knowledge that I expect will set us apart from other agencies.
Additionally, throughout the year our agency made donations to many different charities, although we hold two events very close to our hearts: The Kevin Dunn Memorial Golf Outing and the Dimond’s for Hope Golf Outing.
The 13th Annual Kevin Dunn Memorial Golf Outing was held in July. This outing benefits Autism Speaks and Autism Connection of PA. We are very proud of the fact that this event continues to grow after so many years. This year was no exception, with over 120 golfers playing in the outing! We are tremendously thankful for the support this event has received over the years to help raise tens of thousands of dollars for this cause.
The 2nd Annual Dimond’s for Hope Golf Outing was held in August. This event benefits the Glimmer of Hope Charity, funding breast cancer research for pre-menopausal women. This event also received full participation with over 130 golfers and many additional dinner guests. This year, the proceeds from this event were used to help purchase a state of the art 3D Mammography machine for the early detection of breast cancer. A heartfelt thanks goes out to all the directors, volunteers and contributors of this awesome event!
In the end, we know that it all comes down to our customers. We also know that you have a choice in where you purchase your insurance. We greatly appreciate the trust you have placed in our agency and hopefully the changes noted in this letter proves that we take servicing your insurance needs very seriously.
